WEINZIERL 5256 KNX Modbus Gateway 886

The WEINZIERL 5256, also known as KNX Modbus RTU Gateway 886, is a compact gateway designed to easily integrate Modbus devices that support the RTU protocol into KNX installations.

This device offers 250 freely configurable channels (KNX data points), allowing for flexible integration of Modbus and KNX systems.

Configuration and Operation

<p-The configuration of the assignment between KNX objects and Modbus registers is carried out using parameters in the ETS (ETS: EIB Tool Software), without the need for additional tools. The configuration can also be exported and imported through the Device Configuration App (DCA), a software extension of the ETS.

The device allows the interpretation and scaling of Modbus data based on the types of data points of the KNX standard.

Interface and Indications

The facade of the device includes two buttons and three multicolored LEDs that allow local operation (test functions) and the display of the device's status.

Electrical Insulation

The gateway ensures galvanic isolation between the KNX bus and the Modbus connection, ensuring electrical separation between the two systems.
