Elsner Elektronik's Suntracer KNX-GPS ELS 3093 weather station is a versatile and highly technological device, designed to integrate perfectly with domestic and industrial automation systems based on the KNX protocol.

General Characteristics

The weather station is made of a plastic housing, available in white and translucent colors. It is designed to be mounted on the wall or on poles, thanks to the two included stainless steel installation arms. The IP44 protection guarantees adequate resistance to external environmental conditions.

The dimensions of the station are 96mm x 77mm x 118mm, with a total weight of about 170 grams. The operating and storage environment is between -30°C and +70°C.

Power and Connectivity

The weather station operates with a supply voltage between 20V and 30V DC SELV, with a maximum current consumption of 110mA at 24V DC. The connection is via push-in spring terminals with a conductor cross-section of 0.2 to 1.0 mm².

The connection to the KNX bus is via plug-in terminals with a conductor diameter of 0.6 to 0.8 mm and an appropriate sheathing length. The station supports up to 254 group addresses and 255 assignments, with 254 communication objects available.

Sensors and Functionality

The Suntracer KNX-GPS is equipped with a series of sensors to measure various meteorological parameters:

• Temperature sensor with a measurement range from -30°C to +80°C.
• Wind sensor with a measurement range from 0 to 35 m/s.
• Brightness sensor with a measurement range from 0 to 150,000 lux.
• Heated rain sensor of about 1.2 W to detect the presence of precipitation.
• GPS receiver for synchronizing the time and determining the position of the sun.

Logic and Configuration

The weather station can be configured using the KNX ETS software. It supports AND and OR logic with up to 8 gates each, each with 4 inputs. The states can be connected through these logic gates, allowing flexible management of the switching outputs based on adjustable threshold values.

The station starts working again and sends data within about 5 seconds after the bus voltage is restored.
