2N PiCard Commander - License

The 2N PiCard Commander license (order 91379601) is a security card management solution designed for facility managers and system integrators. This central software application allows you to create a set of unique cryptographic keys for each site, based on a master cryptographic key (MEK).

Operation

The heart of the solution is the 2N PiCard Commander software, which allows administrators to generate reading and encryption keys derived from the MEK. The reading keys are exported and loaded directly to the 2N devices installed on the site or through the 2N Access Commander, which distributes them to the connected 2N IP intercom and Access Unit. Only 2N readers with the correct set of keys can read the encoded cards.

Technical characteristics

• It uses MIFARE® DESFire® EV2/EV3 technology with AES-128 encryption and ECDSA digital signature.
• Compatible with MIFARE® DESFire® EV2/EV3 2N cards and keyrings.
• Requires an external USB reader (9137421E or 9137424E) to generate the license.
• Compatible operating system: MS Windows 10 or later.
• One-off license for each connected external USB reader.

Flexibility and Ease of Use

The solution is designed to be used both by facility managers who manage individual buildings and by system integrators who manage multiple sites. System integrators may also offer secure card management as a service. The software supports three options for encrypting cards based on their use, without requiring specific knowledge of MIFARE® DESFire® technology.

Compatibility with 2N devices

2N PiCard credentials can be read by a variety of 2N devices, including 2N Access Unit 2.0, 2N Access Unit M, 2N IP Force, and 2N IP Verso.
