ELSNER 30146 P03/3-Modbus Modbus Weather Station

The ELSNER 30146 weather station is a highly specialized device for measuring various atmospheric parameters, designed to be integrated into building automation systems and industrial applications.

General Characteristics

The weather station is made of plastic material, with a white and translucent color. The dimensions are approximately 96 x 77 x 118 mm, with a weight of approximately 160 grams. IP44 protection guarantees resistance to adverse weather conditions.

Assembly and Power Supply

The station can be mounted on a wall or a pole. The power supply is at 24 V DC ± 10%, with a maximum consumption of 105 mA. The electrical connection is made using screw terminals with a conductor cross-section of up to 0.8 mm².

The ELSNER 30146 weather station is equipped with a series of high-precision sensors:

Temperature

• Measurement range: -40°C to +80°C
• Resolution: 0.1°C
• Accuracy: ±1.5°C between -25°C and +80°C

Vento

• The wind speed is measured electronically using a piezoelectric crystal, with no moving parts, making the measurement silent and reliable even in conditions of hail, snow and sub-zero temperatures.
• Measurement range: 0-35 m/s
• Resolution: 0.1 m/s

Rainfall

• The precipitation sensor is equipped with a heatable surface (about 1.2 W), which avoids false signals due to fog or dew and dries quickly after the end of the rainfall.

Brightness

• The luminosity is measured using three separate sensors oriented to the east, south and west.
• Measurement range: 0-99,000 lux
• Recognition of dusk and dawn with special filters.

Communication and Integration

The weather station communicates data through the RS485 interface with Modbus RTU protocol. The data can be read by a Modbus master, such as a PC, PLC or other compatible device, using the “04h (Read Input Register)” function.

Data Submission Cycle

The data sending cycle is at least 1 second.

Compatibility and Applications

The station is compatible with smart home systems such as FIBARO, AMPIO and LOXONE, through a special gateway. The data collected can be used to control lighting, curtains, blinds and other automation devices.
