KNX SPACE Presence Sensor - PD00E03KNX

The SPACE KNX presence sensor, code PD00E03KNX, is designed for ceiling mounting up to 4 meters and integrates multiple functions for the control and management of the environment.

Presence Detection

The presence detection is based on a passive infrared sensor and has 5 independently configurable channels. These channels can be activated with various functions, including presence detection with or without lighting control and with automatic or semi-automatic detection modes.

Lighting Control

The sensor includes a brightness sensor for controlling ambient lighting. The brightness management can be set constantly, independently or depending on the presence, with automatic or semi-automatic activation.

Digital and Analog Inputs

The device has a rear connector with 3 digital inputs that can be connected to potential-free buttons or switches. These inputs can be used for on/off controls, dimming, shutters or blinds, scenarios, sequences and step-by-step commands. One of the digital inputs can be configured as analog for connecting NTC temperature probes, allowing temperature measurements to be sent to the bus or to manage a complete thermostat module.

Thermostat and Temperature Control

The thermostat manages 2 stages with an integrated PI controller for controlling heating and cooling equipment, valves and 2- and 4-pipe fan coils.

Humidity and Sound Sensors

In addition to the presence and brightness sensor, the device includes humidity and temperature sensors with specific control algorithms. The humidity sensor manages the reading of the relative humidity of the environment and allows the threshold control with hysteresis of humidification and dehumidification devices. There is also a sound sensor that can be used in environments with parts that are not totally visible to the infrared sensor.

Logic Blocks and Advanced Features

The device has 12 logical blocks with which to create simple expressions with logical or threshold operators, or complex expressions with algebraic and conditional operators. Predefined algorithms are available for proportional temperature and humidity control or dew point calculation.

Virtual Pocket Logic

The scope of “Virtual Pocket Logic” is particularly useful in hotel rooms. By means of a magnetic sensor installed on the door and connected to a digital input, accurate presence information is managed. The presence detection solution can infer the presence of people in the room using one or more dedicated sensors and also detects unexpected presences, differentiating multiple behaviors.

Circadian Rhythm

The device allows you to enable the logic called “Circadian Rhythm”, which imposes brightness and color temperature based on predefined curves or the real position of the sun during the day with respect to a terrestrial coordinate, recreating lighting comfort as close as possible to reality.
