<p/the KNX EELECTRON PD00E02KNX-3 presence sensor is a multifunctional device designed for ceiling mounting and ideal for residential, hotel and building applications. This sensor manages the detection of presence using a passive infrared sensor, which offers 5 independently configurable channels with different functions that can be activated.

Presence Detection

The detection of presence is based on a passive infrared sensor and includes the possibility of deducing the presence of people in the room using one or more dedicated sensors. The system can also detect an unexpected presence and differentiate multiple behaviors.

Multisensor functions

In addition to the detection of presence, the device includes sensors for brightness, temperature and humidity. The brightness sensor manages the control of ambient lighting, while the temperature and humidity sensors allow the control of actuators for the regulation of ambient relative humidity.

In addition, the device is equipped with a sound sensor, useful in environments where parts are not fully visible to the infrared sensor.

Thermostat and Climate Control

The PD00E02KNX-3 integrates a two-stage thermostat with an integrated PI controller for controlling heating, cooling, valves and 2- and 4-pipe fan coils. An additional NTC temperature probe can be connected to obtain a second temperature measurement.

Digital and Analog Inputs

The device has a rear connector with 3 digital inputs that can be connected to potential-free buttons or switches. One of these inputs can be configured as analog for connecting NTC temperature probes.

Logic Blocks and Algorithms

There are 12 logical blocks available to create simple expressions with logical or threshold operators, or complex expressions with algebraic and conditional operators. You can use predefined algorithms such as proportional temperature and humidity controls or dew point calculation.

Virtual Pocket Logic

The device integrates the “Virtual Pocket Logic”, which is particularly useful in hotel rooms. Through a magnetic sensor installed on the door and connected to a digital input, accurate presence information is managed.

View and Control

The sensor includes an RGB LED bar on the front side, freely configurable to display states or other quantities available on the KNX bus. In addition, it is possible to enable the “Circadian Rhythm” logic to set brightness and color temperature based on predefined curves or the real position of the sun during the day.

Applications and Design

The product is designed for residential, hotel and building applications, with a Made in Italy design that combines functionality and aesthetics. The glass covers are available in versions for hotel or residential applications, with customizable options.
