The WEINZIERL 5425 KNX Modbus TCP Gateway 716 is a compact and versatile gateway that interconnects the KNX TP and Modbus TCP protocols, facilitating the integration of Modbus devices that support the TCP protocol via IP.

Mode of Operation

The gateway can operate as both a Modbus master and slave. In master mode, it can address up to 5 slave devices.

Configuration and Integration

The assignment between KNX objects and Modbus registers can be configured through parameters in the ETS (Engineering Tool Software) without the need for additional tools. The device supports the interpretation and scaling of Modbus data based on the types of data points of the KNX standard.

Local Indicators and Controls

The gateway is equipped with two buttons and three multicolored LEDs on the front, which allow local operation (test functions) and the display of the device status.

Power and Connectivity

The power is supplied directly from the KNX bus, with a current consumption of about 20 mA. The device includes a connector for the KNX bus (red/black) and an RJ-45 socket for the LAN connection.
