The KNIPEX 73 06 160 X-Cut compact diagonal cutters are powerful, lightweight and universal tools, designed to cut with precision and minimum effort. They are ideal for cutting thin wires, multi-core cables, and piano wires.

Made from high performance chrome-vanadium steel, hardened in multiple phases and chrome plated, these cutters offer exceptional durability and strength. Their drawer construction ensures maximum stability with low weight.

Design and Construction

• Drawer design with joint axis supported on two sides for intensive use.
• Double guide for the internal handles, reducing the load on the rivet.
• Insulated handles with VDE-tested multi-component grips, ensuring optimal comfort and safety.

Cutting performance

The KNIPEX 73 06 160 X-Cut cutters are able to precisely cut:

• Soft copper wires up to a diameter of 4.8 mm.
• Hard wires up to a diameter of 2.0 mm, such as fence wires and nails.
• Piano wires (spring steel) up to a diameter of 2.2 mm.
• Multi-core cables up to a diameter of 12 mm.

Effort Reduction

Thanks to the high lever transmission and the optimal blade angle, these cutters require approximately 40% less effort than standard diagonal cutters of the same length.

Safety and Use

The cutters are equipped with an isolated attachment point for instrument tethering and comply with DIN ISO 5749, DIN EN 60900 and IEC 60900 standards. They are also REACH compliant and do not contain hazardous substances (SVHC).
