Functionality

This universal tool allows you to disassemble and remove insulation from round, waterproof cables (for example NYM cables from 3 x 1.5 mm² to 5 x 2.5 mm²), data cables (for example twisted pair cables) and coaxial cables. The markings inside the instrument allow you to accurately repeat the removal of the insulation of the individual conductors and the sheathing of the coaxial cables.

Practical Use

The KNIPEX ErgoStrip® is ideal for preparatory work before cabling on terminal boxes, distribution boxes, power outlets or networks. It allows you to make longitudinal cuts on cables to disassemble longer sections, to disassemble deep into recessed or surface boxes, leaving only the minimum amount of sheathing necessary. In addition, it is possible to remove the insulation of individual conductors and, especially important in modern domestic installations, to disassemble and remove the insulation of coaxial cables for satellite and cable networks, as well as data cables for home networks (LAN).

The sheath on long cable runs is precisely cut thanks to an internal blade for longitudinal cutting, which can then be easily removed. The tool is equipped with six insulation removal blades customized for the indicated cross sections.

The net weight of the instrument is 95 g and its fiberglass reinforced plastic structure, combined with a soft plastic area, ensures comfortable and safe use.
