In pyroelectric detectors equipped with traditional technology, infrared signals are captured by a sensor placed at the focus point of the optical devices. When it detects a thermal source within a monitored area, the traditional pyroelectric sensor generates a one-dimensional signal (value) that allows the presence of the source to be detected. The probability of detection within the area depends solely on the quality and therefore resolution of the optics that the motion detector is equipped with. Thanks to the unique design of the patented VE700 series pyroelectric sensor, the thermal source generates a multidimensional signal (vector) that allows it to detect not only the presence, but also the direction of movement of the source. In this case, the probability of detection corresponds to the combination of the quality of the signal obtained through optical resolution and the processing of the multidimensional signal generated by the pyroelectric sensor. This is an extraordinary innovation in PIR technology.

The VE series of motion detectors incorporates patented V2E (Vector Verified Enhanced) signal processing. Each type of signal source will generate a unique vector output captured by the vector pyroelectric. Digital signal processing will analyze the shape and pattern of each vector, allowing it to distinguish different signal sources. This means that the VE series motion sensors will not only identify sources of non-thermal signals, but will also filter out any potential disturbing signals such as fixed thermal sources, fans or strong light sources, and will only react to alarm signals from intruders.
