GPRS-A is a universal monitoring module: it allows stand-alone operation or as part of alarm systems and automation systems. The device is equipped with a GSM phone and supports data transmission in 2G technology.

In the context of alarm systems, this module can be used to communicate with the surveillance, in combination with any alarm control panel. It connects to the control panel via the dialer or via appropriately configured outputs.

The device has 8 inputs, which can be set as digital (NO, NC) or analog. Analog can be used in automation systems or to monitor a wide range of external devices, such as temperature, pressure and humidity sensors. In addition, GPRS-A has a 1-Wire bus, to which up to 8 DS-T1 digital temperature sensors can be connected.

The module can send measurement data via GPRS using the open communication protocols MQTT, JSON and MODBUS RTU. It is thus possible to create a server that will collect data from multiple forms and then reprocess and display them appropriately, e.g. to control the environmental parameters of a group of cold rooms, warehouses or industrial buildings. It is the answer to the need for the so-called Internet of Things (IoT). If preset threshold values are exceeded in an analog input or in a 1-Wire sensor, GPRS-A can report the event to the monitoring station, but can also send a notification to the appropriate users. It is also possible to program an automation by changing the status of some outputs, e.g. turning on the heating system in response to a significant drop in temperature.

The module allows notification of up to 8 users, with different channels: using SMS or PUSH messages or via the CLIP service.

The device has 4 programmable outputs that can be controlled remotely via SMS, CLIP, the GX CONTROL mobile application or the GX Soft configuration program. GPRS-A can then be used to remotely control the alarm system or other devices connected to the module

It is possible to program and configure GPRS-A from a PC by installing the GX Soft program. It is possible to connect the PC to the module locally, through the RS-232 (TTL) port, or remotely, via GPRS.

Remote updating of the GPRS-A firmware is possible using the UpServ program.
