The ELSNER 70682 presence detector, Intra-Sewi KNX TH-L-pr model, is a specialized device for the KNX building bus system, designed to detect the presence of people, brightness, temperature and humidity in the environment.

General Characteristics

The device has a plastic and glass enclosure, available in two colors: white (RAL 9010) and black (RAL 9005). The dimensions are 80 mm in diameter and 36 mm in height, with a total weight of about 50 g. The IP30 protection guarantees resistance to dust and drops of water.

Environmental Conditions

The detector can operate in a range of ambient temperature from -5°C to +45°C and relative humidity from 5% to 95% (non-condensing). The storage temperature ranges from -25°C to +70°C.

KNX Bus functionality

The device uses the TP1-256 medium and operates in S-Mode mode. It supports up to 254 group addresses and 254 assignments, with 122 communication objects. The nominal voltage is 30 V DC SELV, with a maximum current consumption of 10 mA. The connection is made via plug-in KNX terminals.

Presence sensor

The presence sensor uses the passive infrared (PIR) method with a coverage angle of about 94° × 82° and a range of about 5 meters.

Brightness sensor

The brightness sensor measures values between 0 and 2000 lux, with a resolution of 1 lux in the range 0-2000 lux.

Temperature and Humidity Sensor

The TH-l-PR model also includes sensors for measuring temperature (range -5°C to +60°C) and humidity (range 0-100% RH). The device can calculate the dew point and receive external temperature and humidity values to process an average of the room.

Installation and Commissioning

The detector can be installed in a false ceiling or in a standard socket (Ø 60 mm, 42 mm deep). For installation in the socket, a supplied support ring must be used. After applying the bus voltage, the device enters an initialization phase of about 5 seconds.

Routine maintenance consists of cleaning the device with a soft, dry cloth about twice a year.
