Description

2IR dual infrared sensor flame detector in aluminum case. IP65. 24Vcc power supply. 90° cone-shaped field of view. Alarm output and relay fault. Suitable for indoor applications. EN54-10 class 1 certificate. Requires mounting bracket

.

General Information
The FF742 is an IR² flame detector equipped with a die-cast zinc alloy housing. The IR² models are characterized by excellent flame detection while providing good immunity to foreign sources of disturbance. The new microprocessor technology makes the detectors independent of the intensity of the flame, thus allowing them to operate also through the presence of an oil coating on the glass, the presence of smoke, dust or water vapor in the protected environment. It is possible to configure the flame detector with high or low detection sensitivity according to the

EN54-10 standard.

Easy installation and maintenance
The detectors can be connected via conventional 2-wire, 4-20 mA lines or relay outputs (fire, fault and early alarm) in latching or non-latching mode. An input is available for remote self-testing of the device.
An adjustable stainless steel bracket and weather protector are available as accessories.
The units tolerate vibrations, and wind does not affect the performance of the device. The IR² unit has excellent tolerance to detector window contamination and can detect the presence of a flame even through glass. A

portable test unit is available suitable for verifying the operation of all flame detectors.

Reduction of false alarms
Most infrared flame detectors respond to the light emitted by a flame, produced by a hydrocarbon fire in the 4.3 µm wavelength. Responding to the infrared emission generated by each fire from 1.0 to 2.7 µm, FF7 detectors are able to intervene with all types of flickering flames. For example, gas flames not visible to the naked eye, such as those generated by hydrogen, can still be detected.
The IR² detectors, responding to adjacent IR wavelengths, make it possible to discriminate a real flame from spurious sources of infrared radiation.

The combination of filters and signal processing allows the detector to be used without the risk of false alarms in difficult situations characterized by factors such as the flickering of sunlight.
